Cumberland Gap Region Tourism Association:
We may be biased, but we happen to think our region is one of the most beautiful in the nation. This collection of 10 breathtaking counties – including our very own beloved Claiborne County – offer so much to visitors from all over the world. That’s why we’re always happy to support the Cumberland Gap Region Tourism Association for their efforts in getting the word out about all the amazing things we have to offer!
Being among four fantastic cities in the county we call home, we just have to express gratitude to our friends at the Claiborne Economic Partnership. The Claiborne County Chamber of Commerce works on behalf of this membership to promote, unify, inform, serve and enhance the business community in order to make Claiborne County a better place to live, work, and visit. We’re proud of their support in including Cumberland Gap in those efforts.
New Tazewell Tourism Commission:
When our neighbors prosper, we all prosper. The New Tazewell Tourism Commission is a 501(c)(6) non-profit membership corporation working to make New Tazewell a better place in which to visit, live, work, and play. As such a close neighbor to Cumberland Gap, their efforts benefit us as well…and vice versa. We commend the commission’s mission to revitalize, renew, beautify, and attract new small retail businesses to their historic downtown.
Only one mile from Cumberland Gap, just on the other side of the Pinnacle Overlook, sits the largest city in southeast Kentucky – Middlesboro. Talk about a close neighbor! Luckily, they’re a wonderful neighbor whom we’re proud to support. Whether you’re there for a weekend getaway or just passing through, Middlesboro offers a wide variety of things to see, do, and explore…just like the town of Cumberland Gap.
Our neighbors and friends at Middlesboro Main Street definitely have something special. Much like our efforts in Cumberland Gap, these folks are dedicated to creating a vibrant sense of community through economic development rooted in historic preservation and revitalization. They’re part of a state and nationally accredited Main Street program who simply love to proclaim and promote a love for their community and do what it takes to preserve its charm for future generations.
When you have a beautiful corner of the world with something special to offer, you tend to want to share it. That’s what our friends and neighbors at Main Street Pineville like to do, just as we do here in the town of Cumberland Gap. And like us, Pineville features a small yet very inviting downtown area that welcomes all who wish to take in the sites, discover fun things to do, and just enjoy a slightly slower pace of life. We’re proud to support their efforts in all they do.
Tourism is just as important for small communities as it is for bigger destinations, as we know all too well. That’s why we’re proud to support the Bell County, KY Tourism sector. Like us, they work tirelessly to encourage a healthy dose of tourism to showcase what their beautiful county has to offer for visitors of all walks of life. They do so while maintaining the charming small town feel that we all enjoy.

Through their mission of promoting the success of local businesses and fostering economic development by connecting people, ideas, and opportunities, they embody much of what we stand for in Cumberland Gap. We’re so glad to have such an esteemed organization as a neighbor.
Pine Mountain State Resort Park:
State parks are an important aspect of our region, bringing visitors from all over each year. Therefore, Cumberland Gap is proud to support our friends and neighbors at the beautiful Pine Mountain State Resort Park in Pineville, KY. This beautiful mountaintop resort became one of Kentucky’s first state parks in 1926 and offers so much for nature lovers to this day.
Just a tad up the road in Virginia lies the wonderful Wilderness Road State Park, which offers picnicking, hiking, and abounding nature. There are also living history programs that showcase the significance of frontier life and the old Wilderness Road through the mountain pass from which the town of Cumberland Gap gets its name. Therefore, the town is proud to be a supporter and friend to this pleasant corner of our neighbor to the north.
